Sex Education?

Joseph usually poop in his diapers. He was trained to poop in the potty before but as he grow older he preferred the diapers. Haha. Funny boy. A few days ago, while i was putting on a diaper for him, I said aloud to my hubby that his skin around his genitals was slightly red. Sometimes he would tell after he poop and sometimes he won't. So I guess it was red because he didn't inform me and his poop was in the diaper for a while. As I was inspecting his skin, Elizabeth came over and took a peek too. This was what she asked...

Elizabeth: Mummy, why di di's one different?

Me: Because di di is a boy and you are a girl.

Elizabeth: Di di's one same like papa and mine same like yours ah?

Me: Yes.

After that 'yes' both hubby and me were speechless. She observed all that and knows the difference. So should I stop changing clothes in front of her or bathing with the door open?

It's Craft Time Again

This month I managed to do some crafts with my daughter during our free time. The first craft we did is called Family Flower. I got the idea from Playhouse Disney's website. I thought it would be a good idea to this craft because it encourages a happy family concept and also involves a little bit of papa.

This is the part Elizabeth enjoyed the most. Painting her hand and ours and then stamping her hand on the pink paper.

Draw 2 leaf shapes and 1 heart shape.

Paint the heart red of course.

Then paint the leaves green.

You can use two straws for the stick for me I used the Malaysian flag's stick. You know those kind you can get from shops with sweets in the stick.

Elizabeth pasting her hand stamp on the stick.

Then followed by our hands onto the stick too.

Papa's hand, mummy's hand and Elizabeth's hand all pasted on the stick already. I used double sided tape by the way.

Paste the leaves on top of the three hands just right below the smallest hand.

The heart will be right smack in the middle of the two leaves.

Decorate the leaves with glitter glue.

Elizabeth used many colours of the glitter glue.

Looks like someone woke up from slumber and even finished his milk already. Ready to come and create havoc.

Ta da! The finished product and very simple to do too! And I shrieked after I saw what Joseph was doing - putting the glitter glue in his mouth!

This second craft is similar to those fairy fridge magnets that I've done before from previous post. This time it's fairy name plate but I didn't take the step by step shots. But here are still some pictures for your viewing.

Elizabeth painting on the name plate. The plaster and the mould was given in the box.

String was also in the box so that we can hang the name plate.

There can you see the fairy? And opps Elizabeth poured too much glitter on it already.

Uh oh. Somebody woke up from his slumber again and started to grab the brush and mould.

Embracing art?

The Funny Things They Do

Kids say the darndest things or in some cases where the kids can't talk much yet, do the darndest things. I'm sure most of you will agree with me right? Elizabeth, my eldest daughter is now 4 years and 3 months old. While Joseph my youngest son is 19 months old. I think every child at any stage of their development, has their own unique character. It can be a very common thing that every child does but still it's nice to blog about it. It would be fun to read back about it when we are old and grey. So here is a list of the funny things they do in no particular order...

1. My hubby wears spectacles at every waking moment. So the moment he sits up on the bed, Joseph will grab his spectacles and hand it over to his papa.

2. There will always be a reason or excuse everytime I question, reprimand or even give an advice to Elizabeth. Her answer would goes something like this, " No, I just see only, I never touch lah."

3. When you take off Joseph's clothes, he will run into the bathroom. It's a bit hard to get him to come out especially if I just want to change his clothes and not bathe him!

4. If you've read my previous post, I've mentioned that Joseph can say the word "Mummy" already. Recently, he started to say the word,"car". Sometimes it would be spot-on when he points to the cars on the road when we look out of the window or when he points to a picture of a car in his book. But sometimes, he will say "car" and point to other pictures in the book too. LOL.

5. Elizabeth can ask question on and on and sometimes at the wrong time. LOL. How do you answer to this? "Mommy, where is that motorcycle going to?" Usually I would say either to work, shopping, eat or buy things. But sometimes she continues asking at the busiest time like "go shopping and buy what?" I snapped at her by saying, "Eli, I don't know! I don't have a chance to speak to him and I don't even know him". Of course, I would regret after that because she would be silent and I will try to talk about other stuff to her.

6. Yesterday I asked Joseph to find his book and show to his papa the monkey. He showed the correct picture successfully and accompanied it with the "ooh ooh ahh ahh" sound. LOL. He also showed his papa the dog and said "oh oh oh" too.

7. I've discovered that he knows how to fill in the blank when I sing a familiar song or when he watches a familiar show. They are mostly sounds like "A-a-choo" or "Mooo".

8. Elizabeth loves to watch the show Little Einstein. She has watched the DVD over and over again. She knows all the conversations and what's going to happen next already. It's like reading a script. LOL.

9. Joseph is more expressive in getting what he wants. This little fellow will point and make sounds to get your attention. If it goes unheard, he will get louder until you take notice.

10. The two of them like to hold hands together when we go out. It's so sweet to see them holding hands and walking together.

11. Elizabeth can assist me in wearing and taking off her brother's shoes already. Great! Another thing that I can count her on to help me.

12. He dances funny along with music but still very adorable.

13. When Joseph spotted our picture on the wall, he pointed at the picture and said, "Mummy!" I'm still unsure whether he pointed correctly at my picture but it looks as if he's pointing correctly. LOL.

14. And yes, he still calls his papa, "Mummy". Even though his papa corrects him.

Awww...so sweet.

Wah walking in unison

So happy together

Mummy!

Finally the time has come! I'm sure every mummy will be anxious and can't wait for the time when their baby starts calling them "Mummy". I was so thrilled when Joseph uttered that sweet word to my ears a few days before we started our CNY holidays. It paid off because we have been teaching him to say the word but won't get a respond from him. Most babies would choose "papa" or "daddy" as their first word over "mummy". I don't know why. There's no explanation to this. So you can know how disappointed when I heard him saying the word, "papa" prior to this. It's the same with Elizabeth. She too said the word, "papa" first.

I was so happy to hear him finally saying the word but then I also realised that he uses the word "mummy" for everything! LOL. So when I went back to Seremban and Malacca for the CNY holidays. Everyone was surprised and excited to hear him speaking the word "mummy" but they all started to laugh when they too realised that he uses that word for practically everything. It made everyone laughed and it's funny to hear them respond to him, " I'm not your Mummy!" LOL.

I'm still proud of him even though this has happen but my instincts tells me that he knows what and who Mummy is just that he can't control himself from uttering that word! LOL. Convinced? I'm quite convinced. This cheeky fella even deliberately say, "mummy" even when you teach him to say "papa". You can watch this video to see what I mean. :)

I guess playing with their parents' mobile phones is a very normal thing nearly every kid does. Look at him playing with his dad's mobile phone. He even uttered the word, "mummy" when he fell down if you watch closely. LOL.

I'm in the mood of sharing my latest videos of my children caught on tape. Hehe. So enjoy them while it lasts. :p This final video shows them both dancing to music. They were watching Elizabeth's kindy concert dvd.

CNY 2011

Finally here's my post on my CNY celebration this year. This year, I think I did not take as much photos as I did last year. Maybe I was just a little lazy and busy handling two kids. I cannot imagine if I have more than two kids. Photos - NIL? :P

The plan was to head back to Seremban early morning on Federal Territory Day. But my hubby came back late the night before resulting him to wake a little later than planned. We still managed to start the journey in the late morning though. But first before I ran through my checklist, I had to hang red cloth at my main door. An sms from my sister the night before reminding me to hang it between 7am to 8am that morning. Not many people in KL practice this hanging of the red cloth. So if you see someone's house in KL with the red cloth, that person must be from Malacca. LOL.

The kids were the ones that enjoyed the most. It's expected because they can play till the cows come home. Sometimes my daughter even forgotten she has a mother. LOL. Thankfully, my son still acknowledges my existence. This year, my children got to play fireworks for the first time. Don't worry it's not the dangerous type. They played the sparklers and pop-pop. I was disappointed my husband couldn't find any roman candles (a type of firework).

Like every CNY ever since I got married, reunion dinner will always be in Seremban at my in-laws house. My MIL will cook up a storm and serve delicious dishes for us to devour. It's really a waste I didn't take any pictures of her dishes because I don't want my in-laws to think I'm a lunatic. And just like nearly every year, my MIL will sew some CNY clothes for her grandchildren. It's very sweet of her.

Then day 2 finally arrived. The day I look forward to most because I can get to go back to Malacca. I can be with my family especially my parents and I got to meet my best friend not once but twice because she stayed longer in Malacca this year. ^_^ Last year, we didn't get to meet for CNY because she left Malacca on the second day of CNY. I had the opportunity to meet my cousins too when they came to visit this year. My family even went to the beach at Tanjung Kling just for a walk. I went for hi-tea with my best friend. My family 'lou sang' too this year. So if you asked me whether I had a good CNY, I would definitely rate it as "very satisfied".

The kids all geared up to leave for the holiday. Already can't wait to wear their new shoes.

Eve of CNY - Elizabeth and cousin sister, Zi Yu. Elizabeth trying to play it cool.

Joseph was bold at first until he hurt his hand. Somehow that didn't stop him the next day.

Elizabeth not so cool already. She's seeking protection from her Suk Suk.

Joseph's favourite sound, "Ooooo"

Joseph with his Gong Gong and Ku Che.

1st day of CNY. The dress tailored by my MIL.

1st photo op attempt. Little rascal refused to stay put on the sofa.

And happily sat on the floor.

And did the "ooooo" sound again.

Elizabeth with her cousin brother Han Yang and cousin sister Zi Yu.

2nd photo op attempt. Failed again but managed to snap a photo quickly before he's out of the picture.

Everyone ended up on the floor to accompany Joseph.

This is what he's been doing that kept us busy. He wants me to lose more weight!

On the way to my husband's relatives house.

2nd day of CNY - In Malacca already. Joseph finds it funny to keep bumping the tricycle to the door.

My princess just woke up from afternoon nap. Another dress tailored by my MIL.

Still so glum.

3rd day of CNY. Yee Sang with salmon and jelly fish.

Tossing the yee sang! Yipee!
Joseph already demanding to join in the fun.

Finally get the chance to toss the yee sang his style.

Elizabeth and cousin brother Benjamin.

My princess.

'Manja' Joseph with cousin brother Brandon.

Elizabeth hasn't gotten over her fear of the beach since the last time we went to the beach.

Joseph loved it!

Pulling his papa nearer to the waves.

Enjoy wading in the sea.

4th day of CNY - After going to church on Sunday. Just couldn't keep still in the car.

Sweet lil' dahling of mine.

Cam whoring with my son. Haha.

Those things he refused to get away from. We have to drag him away each time he goes on one of these.

Elizabeth also wants to sit.

My two lil' dahlings.

Elizabeth with my nephew Brandon.
