Last Saturday was a jam packed day with activities. Elizabeth had to miss her JMC and ballet classes that day. In the morning, we arrived early at Rumah Charis, home for the children (orphanage) and home for the aged.
It was actually a charity or CSR event organised by Elizabeth's kindy, Q-dees. Only the 6 years old children were invited to join in the event if they are interested. Since it is her final year in kindy, we were happy to join in. It is a good way to teach our children about charity, giving back or create the awareness about many under priviledge children in our society.
Some of the 6 year olds came with their parents. The teachers of Q-dees were also present to lead the children during the event. All the children were required to do was just to have fun and play games with the children of Rumah Charis.
Joseph also joined in the activities. He enjoyed it!
They had KFC for brunch. This orphan girl seems to like playing with Joseph.

It was a first new experience for my kids and they seemed to enjoy it. Maybe we can pay more visit to orphanage in the future. The children at Rumah Charis were treated to brunch and they each got gifts too. Even the children from Q-dees were given gifts as a token for participating in the event. The caretaker of Rumah Charis was given cheques. Those were the donations from the parents of Q-dees children. Hopefully this will help Rumah Charis in some way!
Later that day after lunch, we attended another event sponsored by Dutch Lady. It all happened when I received a call from Dutch Lady extending me an invitation to their event at Kidzania. When I heard Kidzania, of course I accepted the invitation straight away. LOL. The invitation is for 2 adults and 2 children. Perfect!
So off we go to Kidzania for the second time but it was the first time for hubby and Joseph. We registered first as invited guests and were presented a goody bag. We were briefed later that Dutch Lady will be conducting a finger print exercise and produce a report from there for our children. The report it seems will tell us our children's potential and maybe give us a guide and insight as to what their future may be.
We were ushered into the Plaza Premium Lounge in Kidzania and we were briefed clearly again about the event. According to the staff from Dutch Lady, we are the first to experience their new promotion which they will launch it next month.
The finger print of every finger were recorded into their system which generated a report after every finger has been taken.
After getting the report, there will be consultants to explain to us (one consultant to one family) the results of the report. I now know that each finger print can be analysed to find out our natural talents in different fields. For example the thumb finger print is for 'The Developer' in us and this person has the ability to recognise, find and develop new ideas. The index finger is 'The Solver' who has the ability to find solutions to problems. The middle finger is 'The Actuator' who has the ability to run an established system or program. The ring finger is 'The Communicator' who has the ability to perform well as a communicator, both verbally and written. Lastly, the little finger is 'The Observer' who has the ability to observe various things, both in small and large scopes.
Here's an example of one of the cards the consultant showed to me. She will show you the cards based on your which readings are the highest in your child's report.
Every child, I believe has natural talents in all these fields. It's just depends on the reading whether it's high, average or low. If it is high then you know that your child are more prone to that specific natural talent. What we as parents can do is to encourage and do more activities to hone that skill. In conclusion, the consultants advised us to never stop the child from learning anything. Encourage them in as many fields as possible. It is better to be good in all fields rather than just focusing on one or two. Release the potential in our children. I am so honoured to be invited and be a part of this event to have first hand experience. It is an eye opener for me and I feel priviledged as a member of Dutch Lady's Mom's Club because only selected club members were chosen. Thank you Dutch Lady!
When we're done with the consultants and got whatever information we wanted already, it was free and easy time for us. That means we can proceed to Kidzania and have fun! Of coruse we couldn't finish many jobs this time because time were taken for the Dutch Lady event and also the fact that it was the weekend. The queue and waiting time was longer. Still, we were grateful for the free access to Kidzania. Joseph and Elizabeth enjoyed themselves especially the firefighter job without any doubt. LOL. It must be that chant, "Kidzania, firefighters..Kidzania, firefighters!"
Joseph ran faster than his sister to cash in Kidzania's cheque. So excited! And so happy to receive his 50 kidzos. The first job he wanted to do was to drive car but he was not tall enough so the next best thing is pumping petrol.
Not surprise that the queue for the firefighters job was long. My kiddos looked so cute in the uniform.
We were given free meal vouchers by Dutch Lady too for our dinner. There were 2 kids meal vouchers and 2 adults meal vouchers.
The uniforms were oversized. But doesn't it made Joseph looked cuter? LOL.
That was about 5 jobs they managed to do. They did the pilot job too but I regret not purchasing the photo. :(
They were left with so many kidzos in hand, so I allowed them to purchase some souvenirs for 50 kidzos each.
We all went home very tired that day but happy. ^_^
Last Sunday, we went to Putrajaya for the Putrajaya Floria 2011 event. It's a flower and garden festival held at the Waterfront, Precinct 2, Putrajaya. Admission was free and so I thought why not? What made us interested to go was actually to see floats and the fireworks at the end of the float show.
The children were as usual excited to be able to go out. But were not so excited already when they had to squeeze among the crowd. It was crowded and everyone was fighting for the best view. The crowd made it hard to breathe and also made us sweat because of the heat. So that dampened the children's mood. The show haven't even reached to the middle of the show and the children already showed signs of wanting to go home. They were cranky and angry. So we left the place and already drove the car halfway until we discovered less crowd further down the lake! We quickly swerved to the roadside and parked our car there. We joined the less crowd there and continued with the show. The children were happy again. More space, more cooling and they don't have to fight for the best view because here we are right in front.
So I've learnt something from attending this kind of event is either you go there super early to get the best view or just go further away from the event where there's less crowd. Now what shall I do or where shall I go this weekend? Any ideas to share with me?

Last Saturday, we went for Elizabeth's kindy's sports day. She was super excited and asked a couple of times whether "parents can go or not?" I have to assure her many times that we are going along except her little brother. At least that morning she didn't make a fuss like most mornings. It's quite hard to wake her up for school and this little grouch always got me dragging her away from the bed.
Her sports day was held at a secondary school in Sri Petaling. The activities were carried out in the school hall which I felt was too small. It felt so crowded with the children and parents that it makes the event quite disorganised. But thank goodness it was held indoors for it was a rainy day that Saturday. There were short performances by the children before the games began. The games were simple ones and there are no winners or losers. Well, they're just preschoolers right? It's all in the name of fun and play.
Elizabeth enjoyed herself and was happy that we were there to participate with her. I think the best part for her was when all the children took turns to receive their trophy and bag of goodies.

I'm sure you've seen in my other post that we go to the Bukit Jalil park quite often and last Saturday was no exception too. So I'll just share some images. This time we took the tricycle along!

For dinner, we went to this new shop. Chilli Pan Mee Restaurant has arrived to Sri Petaling! They have branches in many other places like Kota Damansara and Puchong too. Now we don't have to travel far for our chilli pan mee. Overall, a very satisfying sport Saturday!
This was what we ordered. 3 bowls of pan mee (accompanied by 3 bowls of soup) and a plate of choy sum. That's my bowl of chilli pan mee before I gaul my bowl. Must eat with the chilli then only syok.
Elizabeth specifically requested that red bean shake and that's my fresh ambra fruit with dried sour plum. But actually I can't even find the sour plum, just the seed.

36 weeks already. Gosh, it's nearing. LOL. Getting excited and anxious. Hopefully my flu will be ok by then. It's really bad and I can't breathe. Head feels so heavy now. And I spoke too soon about my pregnancy. Now I'm having the itchiness again! So itchy! I feel like scraping the skin off at my belly. I have rashes all over it and the itchiness is killing me. It even spread to my buttocks. Arghh!
My Eliza is turning into a real drama queen. When she's in a good mood, she will be so sweet and smiley and everything won't tick her off. But once she's in a bad mood. The drama starts. LOL. Last Sunday, I had a dinner appointment with friends. The appointment was at 6.30PM. But at 5.45PM, Eliza was still sleeping. It took me some time to wake her up. This drama queen was whining on the bed, refusing to get up. After much persuasion coz I told her we are going out then she got up. But after that another drama. She saw her books and wanted to read book first. I told her we have no time for reading. I had to drag her to the potty even. She refused to urinate. After she got dressed, she wanted to read again. We told her we are going out already without her. Then she started to cry and run to us quickly. LOL.
My friend called her drama queen when they met and she started to cry. Maybe she seldom see my friends so she was a bit shy. She was so manja during dinner. Saying she was tired, sleepy, want to go home. Don't know what's keeping her away from that restaurant. She didn't even play with my friend's daughter who's the same age as her. They just said hello and goodbye to each other. LOL. Oh and even hug that's all. She didn't even want to sit in the baby chair. Sat on our laps the whole time. Asked to go to a water feature in the restaurant numerous times. She has a thing for water. LOL. But at least she went to the restroom twice with me and managed to pee. I was relieved! Didn't want any embarrassing moment in the restaurant. Although I took an extra pant just in case.
She is really my little drama queen. Everyday there's some sort of drama, big or small. Maybe girls just really wanna have fun. It's fun for her to be dramatic..hehe.
Last weekend was a long weekend because it was a public holiday on Monday. It was an eventful one also. Thank God for that. My weekend started with one tiny baby voice on a beautiful Saturday morning. I opened my eyes slowly and turned to smile towards that voice. I practically dragged my feet out of the bed, went to wash up and prepare the water for Lil' Dahling to bathe. Bathing time is more fun for Eliza nowadays. When I tell her she's done and it's time to get out of the bathtub, she'll shake her head vigorously and show signs of displeasure. She'll also turn her back on me and I have to give her some more time. Usually after the time allowance then she'll be more co-operative the second time around. Can you imagine she is already doing some negotiation skills with me at this age? Then it's rush time. Husband, you do this! I'll do that! Cos we're rushing for appointment with Eliza's doctor. Immunization again, her 1st booster for DPT and Polio vaccine. We had about 20 minutes before the appointment so we gobbled up our breakfast at a shop nearby. While we were waiting for our turn at the doctor's, Eliza went to the play area and played away. When her name was called, she seems to know that she's in for something not good. She cried when the nurse wanted to get her height measurement. Being very naughty and difficult. The nurse gave up and look like I've to measure her myself at home. Sigh, extra work. The only thing she was willing to let us find out is her weight. She weights 10.04kg now. When the nurse beckoned us into the doctor's room, Eliza walked slower than her usual speed and kept staring at the doctor. Haha. The doctor responded by saying,"oh, you know we are not good people huh?" The toy dog trick didn't work for her now. She didn't even bother to look at the dog and started crying and kicking. Luckily the doctor was fast and I didn't even realize he already jabbed her. The doctor was asking us whether we have decided to give Eliza the chicken pox and hepatitis A injection and I said no. I'm still contemplating whether to go for it or not. Hmmm..
Finally we can go home. Eliza needs her morning nap also. We took her swimming in the evening. I took out her swimming suit and showed her but she shaked her head refusing to wear it. I still forced her to wear anyway..hehe. She looks quite sexy in it cos it's getting tighter. LOL. Luckily I have 2 other swimsuits for her. Then I took out the float from the store room and the moment she saw her float, she flapped her arms and ran towards the door. She couldn't wait to enter the pool and this time she did not cry because of the cold water. She enjoyed screaming and kicking in the pool. She can be quite a loud speaker I tell you.
We had to stop swimming cos we had a dinner date planned. I asked her whether she wants to wear her black shoes and she shaked her head frantically. I asked her whether she wants to wear her white shoes and she just said, "shoe, shoe." That's a yes I guess. I didn't know she knows how to choose now. Even my friends were surprised that she knows how to choose at this age. We went to Gohtong Jaya for dinner with friends and my brother in-law and his family. The place is on the way up to Genting Highlands. After our fulfiling dinner(because I was damn hungry!) we went up to Genting Highlands. The guys played video games and I was busy clicking my handphone away (forgot to bring my camera of all things). Eliza was running here and there. It's hard to keep up with her these days now that she's in the terrible twos stage.
We decided to get some fresh cool air after that. So we headed to the park outside and just sat at the bench to drink. As you can guess it, we couldn't sit for long. Chasing after Eliza can really burn a lot of calories. She just kept running even though it is already close to midnight. She fell asleep in the car on our way back home. That's when at least I can rest.;)
Eliza woke me up about 6 in the morning for milk. I was so tired from the night before. So after feeding her, I crashed back on my bed and left her to talk all by herself in her cot. She went on and on in her "Thai" language while I was slowly drifting off to dreamland again. When I suddenly woke up she was already asleep. It was more of a rest day today. I also found out that Eliza is starting to pay attention to Barney's programme when it's on TV. Oh no, you know how i despise that purple monster. Eliza seems to be attracted to it because it has dancing and singing. She also counts 1 to 5 now but still needs to practice her diction. Hers sounds like wan, too, tee, por, paieeee.
Monday was a public holiday so we went shopping at Mid Valley. Met a friend and his wife there. They brought along their 3 month old daughter. We met them again for dinner. Went to a western diner. It was a good dinner although Eliza had me running after her around the restaurant. We went home after dinner and I tucked Eliza in bed. We were minding our business and suddenly about 10:20PM, we felt tremors and as if we were swaying left to right. My husband quickly picked Eliza and we went down the building. Eliza was already sleeping. Many of the residents in my condo also went down for safety. Who wouldn't be afraid after the cyclone Nargis in Myanmar and Sichuan earthquake? It was confirmed later that several areas in the Klang Valley felt tremors following an earthquake off North Sumatra. Fortunately, the earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale did not pose a tsunami threat.
That was the quite eventful weekend and I'm looking forward for this weekend too. Planning to bring the whole family to Sunway Lagoon. Shall keep everyone posted. Sorry for the long absence. Have a great weekend guys!
