Elizabeth is 5!

Another year and my baby is now 5 years old! It seems not too long ago when I blogged about her 4 year old birthday. Time moved on so fast. I wish I could freeze time! This year, her birthday party in school was done few days earlier because the real date falls on a Sunday. I did the usual cake ordering and prepared the goodie bags. Hubby has more time to help me with the goodie bags this year, thanks hubby! He also could make it for the birthday party in school this year. Thank God!

So what did the little highness wanted on her birthday cake this year? This year it's all about Disney Princess. She wanted Snow White and Cinderella to be on the cake so I ordered two cakes! One for the school party and one for the real day! The stuff for the goodie bags were purchased quite at the last minute so this time, I didn't make my own goodie bag like last year. Want to see how it looked like, click here.

A few shots before she blows the candles.

I want to have a pic too!

Blow! Blow! Blow!

The part where most kids are most excited about - get their piece of cake!

Erm..I know what you're thinking. Like one of my friend pointed out that this Snow White's dad must be Spongebob.

What does the birthday girl think of the party? With that smile, it must be a SUCCESS!

Everyone's busy eating their piece of cake.

The goodie bags filled with goodies..duh!

Very possessive la this bf!
The celebration never stop there. Two days after, we celebrated her birthday again in hubby's hometown. My mother in-law wanted to throw a small birthday party for her but her friend's grandchildren couldn't make it and Elizabeth's cousins were down with chicken pox. Nevertheless, it's a happy one for Elizabeth. My MIL sewed many dresses for her and she got her Cinderella cake.

Every birthday, I tend to discover that Elizabeth reaches a milestone. This year, I realised that she is more matured and she talks more like an adult. Like when she told her grandparents before we returned to KL,
"Ok bye bye, next time I will come to your house again".

Then when her father asked her to dance for us, she didn't want. When asked why, she just said,
"You join me lar". LOL.

We went for an event recently and I told her,
"You look disappointed, I'm sorry that they didn't have the hot air balloon ride as promised". She said a simple,

"I know".

Happy 5th Birthday my little princess. I love you more and more each day. Everyday, I'm learning beautiful and new things about you.  I pray to God to bless you with all the joy, happiness and glory in the world. May you sail through all the obstacles and challenges that come in your way to success. I am proud to have you as my daughter and nothing brings us more happiness than the smile on your face. I want to see that smile on your lips forever.

This is the Cinderella cake and they spelt my daughter's name wrongly! Hubby said this Cinderella got breast cancer. ROTFL.

Joseph is trying to imitate jie jie doing the peace sign. LOL.

Early birthday celebration

Last weekend, I went back to sweet home Malacca. The plan was to celebrate Elizabeth's birthday earlier before her real birthday on the 6 November with my family.

My sister bought Eliza a cake. She asked me a few days before and I wanted a Winnie the Pooh head shaped cake. But the lousy cake shop said they only have the full body size mould for the cake. I didn't want that because then it would be too huge. So they recommended a normal round sponge cake with a picture of pooh bear on top of the cake. But I was disappointed when I collected the cake because it turned out that the picture on top of the cake wasn't just pooh bear alone but along with other winnie the pooh cartoon characters! The pooh bear in fact was so tiny that Eliza didn't notice it at first. What a disappointment! I'm going to ban that cake shop for any cartoon cake orders in the future!

Eliza was the last to wake up that day! But it was ok, at least we all have time to have our breakfast. Everyone got ready and changed our clothes to be photo ready including the main actress of the day. She was happy to be on her brand new tricycle, present from her grandparents. She was also happy to play with her new toy drum, present from her aunt. Then I took out the cake, lighted up the candles, sang the birthday song and helped her to blow the candles. Of course we took pictures too!

We went out after that and after sending off my sister to work, we went to one of the most photo worthy spot in Malacca, the Stadhuys. Hehe. After many years being a Malaccan, I can't remember the last time I've been there. I think it was many years ago before I got married and went there to have cendol with some friends. We took some pictures and I was impressed that the Malacca River sidewalks were revamped. The riverside were really clean and the river doesn't smell bad already. And I heard the place is really lovely at night too.

Then we went to Mahkota Parade to shop. And later headed to Melaka Raya for lunch at Simply Fish. (Thanks to kreazi and sunsetrose recommendation). Lunch was simply quite delicious. I bragged to my husband that not bad for Malacca standard to have this kind of restaurant and it's better than Seremban. He just rolled his eyes. He was very sly too. He ordered, in my opinion the best dish among us. His dish came with prawns, squid, fish, butter rice and salad. It's even cheaper than my dish! I ordered salmon topped with salsa sauce, salad and chips. My nephews were happy with their fried country chicken chop and my dad ordered a salmon teriyaki dish. My mom was the only one not too happy with her dish. Hers was salmon alfredo pasta. She said the salmon was too salty for her and the sauce too creamy. LOL. I also forgot lil' dahling who was just happy munching chips out of my plate.

She was already sleepy and tired that she fell asleep in the car. Thank goodness she continued sleeping for two hours after we placed her on the bed when we got home. There will be one more mini birthday party among ourselves this coming thursday, on Eliza's real birthday early in the morning because my husband couldn't take leave on that day. Shucks! So look out for that and till then enjoy these videos.

A day of fun for lil' dahling

Last Saturday, lil' dahling and parents were invited to a birthday party. The party's venue was in Great Eastern Mall, Kiz Sports and Gym. Party time was 5.30PM as stated in the invitation card. But as first-time parents, we always use our child's name as an excuse for being late. Hey it's quite true ok? We have to bathe her, change her, make sure there's enough diapers, fill up the flask, fill up the water bottle, make sure we bring the feeding bottle, make sure there's milk, extra clothes and bla bla bla. My husband always joke that we are moving house again.

So we were already late and to make matters worse we have to go through traffic jam. But it was worth it. It was quite an experience because it's the first time we went to a party in those kids playzone. We had to flash our invitation card at the check-in counter. Left the presents there and Eliza was given a sticker with her name on it to stick on her clothes like a name tag. Ok so we went through the gate and we had to look for the room. Some children were already playing at the playzone before the party started. Parents were gobbling up food, me included.:D Food was not quite enough. Only two choices of nasi lemak and spaghetti bolognese. I took a big plate of nasi lemak for my husband but he whispered to me that he was not full enough. Tsk tsk tsk! Lil' dahling was walking around without a care in the world. Curiously looking here and there.

The party started with games and I haven't even finish my food. Well, served me right for coming late right? The kids went to the playzone area first for half an hour. So while waiting for us to eat, I placed lil' dahling at the children's table to amuse her with the empty plates, fork and knife. Then the second games session started in the ballet room. Again the games are not suitable for lil' dahling yet. She didn't care at all. Walked here and there in the room as if it's her party. I was afraid the other kids would bump into her. Then it was the cake cutting session. This time the plates weren't empty. Oh no, Eliza tasted her first french fries already! I've got no choice! Thought I would only introduce it to her when she goes to secondary school. I know even my husband said I'm out of my mind. Anyway, she seemed to enjoy it. Boo hoo hoo. Holding two fries in each hand.

The cake cutting session was quite interesting because they had a mascot. The mascot in a form of monkey named Panzee came in much to the delight of the children. Each child got a party favour and everyone including adults got a taste of the birthday cake. After all the excitement, the party ended and I can see on every child's face that they had so much fun that day. For Eliza, it was only the beginning because I think the highlight for her was when she played in the playzone after the party. She was a bit hesitant at first because after all it was her first time. She played at the "baby gym" area and the "pool of balls" area. Of all the multi coloured balls only the silver ball caught her eye. And I told my husband that our daughter has high taste even at this tender age. Haha. It is evident that she enjoyed herself because everytime when we were on the way out of the playzone she would be missing and we would find her back in the "pool of balls" area. I had to practically drag her out of that place. It was indeed a day of fun for lil' dahling and parents as well. Seeing her happy has made us happy and thankful that we were invited to the party. My husband even reminded me to thank my friend for inviting us. To end this post, here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure ;)
