My Terrific Two Year Old

On July 2nd 2011, Joseph entered the terrific two year old phase. It was just a small do with family. It fell on a Saturday and we were in my hometown. Mum didn't thought we were celebrating. She's still not in the mood. But I was thinking poor little innocent fella. So just got a cake, sang Birthday song and cut the cake. That's all. I haven't even got this little boy his present. Sorry dearie. Be patient.

Birthday boy's cake.

Fuuuhhhh! Blowing out the candles with the help of jie jie.

Yay! Everybody clap!

Now to cut the cake.

The kids 'attacked' the pieces of chocolate first.

And now they're enjoying the cake.

My handsome terrific two year old, Joseph!
I can't believe my boy is a terrific two now. It seems like it was just yesterday that I held him in my arms for the first time. Kids really grow up so fast! Now he can walk, run and jump. He can do more things compared to a year ago. So fast even it's hard for me to keep up. One of the funny things he does now is the way he sings songs. He can't sing the whole phrase in a song so what he'll do is he'll only sing the word or some words at the end of a phrase. LOL. Check out my videos to know what I mean. Hope you'll find it amusing. Sunsetrose, here's to your request! I hope you enjoy the most..:P

Happy Birthday Joseph. Mummy loves you so very much and looking forward to many more terrific years together with you! I will always be proud of you..:)

Hello again!

Sorry for not updating my blog for sometime. A bit rusty here. So just thought I might kick it off by saying hello again.

Remember I did a post once about Joseph wearing shoes a few size bigger? See here. Now he has done it again. This time with MY shoes.

Kids really love to wear adult's shoes right? Maybe it's easier to wear and they can run off easily.

On a separate story, Elizabeth just had her mini concert for her Junior Music Course in Yamaha. Here are some videos if you are interested. Sorry that you have to tilt your head in the first video. I totally forgotten that I'm not suppose to record it that way. :P

My Heart Still Aches

I don't even know how to start this post. I've been away from my blog because I've been too devastated, too down and I'm not in the mood for it. But a very close friend of mine suggested blogging about it might be a good way to express and maybe feel better after it. It has been 21 days since the passing of my dearest father. It's very hard for all of us to accept and even until now I can't believe that he has gone.

How do we all live without you, daddy? I am fortunate to have my children to dote upon. But what about my mother? She has been hit the hardest. I don't know how long it will take for her to recover. I don't blame her for she has lost her pillar of strength. Not a day goes by that I find myself thinking about my dad. How can we just simply forget him when he has touched our lives so much with his kindness and tenderness. I miss him so very much. I miss his smile, I miss talking to him, I miss his voice, I miss his cooking, I miss how he wave goodbye to me, I miss having him around..I just miss everything about him.

I am thankful that I managed to spend time with him before he left us. I also hugged and kissed him. The only thing I regret is I did not say "I love you, daddy" and I did not get to see his last breath even though we were all by his bedside. I also did not get to bring him to Penang. I hope you know how much I love you, daddy and I know that you are now in Heaven with the Lord, free from all your sufferrings. Life has to move on for us even though you are deeply missed. You are one tough person, daddy..battling it for 6 years. I know it's because you know mommy needs you, you want to see us longer, be with your grandchildren longer. I am very proud of you daddy and I will never forget how you've been the best father in the whole world to me. You've always been so caring, understanding and patient.

And even though my heart still aches, how I wish you are still with us, I have to tell myself that you are at a better place. I know you're shining down on us from Heaven. May the Good Lord bless and keep you till we meet again one sweet day.

TGIF!

TGIF! I'm so looking forward to the weekend not just because it's any other weekend but come next week it's my turn to be on school holidays break. Yeah, I need a break too although I'm still together with the kids. :P I already don't blog on weekends so pardon me if I'm quiet next week because my blog will be on hibernate mode. ;) Please say you'll miss me..:P
Besides announcing to the whole world that I'll be on a break, I actually want to share about an event I happily went last Saturday. The Mothercare MCarnival event. How did I know about this event? I signed up for their e-Newsletter so I got an invitation through e-mail. I saw they had a bunch of activities lined up for the event and thought why not participate in it since it's the school holidays and I had some things to purchase too.

Upon arriving at the entrance, we were given a coupon to redeem free popcorn and cotton candy. It was not a surpise to see many people at the Mothercare store.

I just can't avoid this. It's too big and colourful luring my kids to it.

Children's pit stop.

This was what they jumped into straight away when they entered the store.

Look at the queue. I feel a bit dizzy just looking at this picture.

There was a clown show. The clown was really funny. The children and even the adults seemed to enjoy the show except for my children who were afraid of clowns! Sometimes their makeup freak me out too.

Once you purchase more than RM 200, you are entitled to enter this wheel of fortune activity. I was eyeing for the RM 50 voucher but instead I got the mystery gift. It was a toy train.

You have to show a proof of receipt to participate in the activities like this Fun With Face Painting. Look at how excited my princess was.

What is the face painter painting on her cheek?

Oh it was a flower and a butterfly. But Elizabeth told me that she wants to look like Marty from Madagascar next time. *slap my forehead*

I thought the kids were suppose to have fun with beading but instead the staff were already having fun beading it themselves and just happily hand the finished product to the kids who approached them. Oh well, it was pretty though and my daughter likes it.

Joseph enjoying the free popcorn. That's the only time he will stop running by putting him in that walker and feeding him popcorn. Hehe.

I like the colourful balloon arch at the entrance.

Finally the long-awaited free cotton candy because the person in-charge was on a break.
It was way past lunch time when we left the store and after a long deliberation, we went to Nando's for lunch. A favourite dine-in place for both hubby and I. We used to go Nando's even when we were dating.

Wait a minute! Were there actually chickens in Nando's?

No, the culprit was actually this Chicken Little.
Joseph was uncontrollable and I looked apologizingly at the waitress as I dashed out the restaurant. =_=' Have a great weekend everyone and I'll be back!

To The Park We Go Again!

Since I was so mesmerised by the park's beauty in Desa Parkcity (from previous post), I went there again the very next day. Moreover the kids haven't been there. My brother in-law and his family lives nearby. So after paying them a visit, we dropped by Desa Parkcity to bring the kids before the sky gets dark. It is a beautiful park and there were so many people. Even dogs of all kinds of breed were there. Of course with their owners. We did not finish exploring every corner of the park yet, so we planned to return some day. It was a hurried outing at the park that day because we don't want to be home late for our home-cooked dinner. Enjoy the images!

Happy cousins playing together. Elizabeth wanted her picture to be taken. But where is Joseph? He was busy playing with toys.

Everyone enjoying the breeze and the scenery at the park. I spotted a poodle.

More dogs! Could be malamutes? Sorry, this is a bad shot actually but I just didn't have the time to wait for the perfect shot.

Finally a chow chow dog from front view. I had to crop the picture because the owner's a** was like right in my face and I have no intentions to embarrass her anyway. Look at the spectators admiring the dog's beauty.

Doesn't this St. Bernard dog reminds you about the movie Beethoven? It was really huge.

Part of the reason why I can't take good pictures because I had to keep an eye on the children. I'm so paranoid especially at crowded parks. Joseph is still holding his father's hand in this picture. But not for long...

Once they caught sight of the children's playground, it was like all the gates of hell was open. LOL. Can you see my two little ones making their way to their destination?

They're getting away further already and I can see that my hubby is speed walking.

Now big sister is trying to stop her little brother from running away. She's always so worried of her brother's safety.

Elizabeth getting more adventurous and brave as she gets older.

Joseph ran so much that I had to put him on this metal hammock so that he would stay put for a while.

Elizabeth trying to pose like a model..hehe.

I haven't seen a swing like this before. Cool swing I'd say. The kids seem to be enjoying it.

Elizabeth wants a second go. Joseph already called it quits.

The treat of the day before heading home.

Feel like a VIP

Not too long ago, I signed up for a Proton Exora VIP test-drive session and was lucky to be selected to join the event. I don't know what's in it for us that signed up but I just did it anyway since hubby and I were both interested in MPVs if we were to buy a new car one day. So it was nice that I got selected and I get to bring hubby along. The sad thing is we're not allowed to bring children along. Luckily I have my babysitter to turn to.

We were one of the early birds to arrive. So we got to enjoy breakfast longer.

Each couple were given a clipboard. This is part of the itenary for the event.

I even got a chance to meet a celebrity mommy blogger, Merryn. ;) One very hot mama.

There were brief talks on parenting issues as part of the programme.

Fullhouse Cafe in Sunway Giza Mall. Quite a cool venue to host the event. This is where the talks and briefings were held. Not to forget the meals provided too! That car is so super cute!

Do I look like a reporter? I'm suppose to be a VIP ler.

All the participants for the event. Everyone was excited to take the picture that we shielded the poor Exora car at the back. LOL.

All set to go! I am test-driving first. Route was from Sunway Giza Mall in Kota Damansara to Desa Parkcity in Kepong.

The car comes with GPS. (for high line in Exora only)

My dear hubby testing on how it would feel to be a passenger right at the back row.

It's his turn now! What a poser.

When we arrived in Desa Parkcity, we were taken to the car park near the park for a performance test-drive session. The aim was for us to test the Advanced Braking System (ABS).

This was the car we drove. Nice?

One of the challenge for everyone to participate. The challenge is to put all the luggage, golf bag and a stroller into the boot as fast as we can.

While I was on my way to the washroom, I can't help but to snap a pic of this beautiful scenery of the park in Desa Parkcity.

Look at all the Exoras lining up.

We were treated to more food and talks when we returned to Fullhouse Cafe in Sunway Giza Mall.
All in all it was a good experience as I've never been to a test-drive session before. It was also not a normal test-drive as we had the priviledge to do the performance test-drive. What's more to be treated like a VIP. The Proton team were also very helpful and friendly. We were all given a series of questions to test our knowledge about the car and also 2 challenges to perform like the Storage Challenge and the Blind Fold Parking Challenge. It was great fun and everyone returned home with a prize, voucher and goody bag! ;)
