God Sent

So focus to the TV
In this position for a good few minutes.

It has happened again! Baby Mozart is truly God sent. A real parenting gem for me. It has got this power over my babies from Elizabeth and now to Joseph. You just need some me-time or some time for chores without any disruptions? Just pop in that trusty DVD and you'll be free! Especially with a clingy baby, Baby Mozart can do wonders. When Eliza was a baby, I can even cook from start to finish.

Joseph is an active baby and clingy too. I was doubtful that Baby Mozart would work on him. But guess what? It worked too! I'm telling you it even works for demanding babies. Hehe. It was proven yesterday while I was wrestling with Joseph on the bed and Eliza was watching Baby Einstein. Yes, until today Eliza still watches it from time to time. Some of you might say wrestling? Wah, such a violent mom? That's because I practically have to struggle and wrestle with him when I change his diaper and clothes for him. Most of the toys or things I used to distract him doesn't interest him anymore. But then yesterday, when he heard the familiar tune from Baby Mozart playing on the tv, he stopped abruptly and was stunned for a few seconds. I could change his diapers and clothes without fuss. Just imagine, even the tune can control him. Put him in front of the tv with Baby Mozart and he won't budge.

I'm so glad for Baby Mozart and how it has helped me get my 20 minutes of time to accomplish whatever I need to do. Maybe Baby Einstein should get me to become their ambassador. Haha.

Miss I'm-The-Cutest

This is Miss I'm-The-Cutest. It's not a title I gave or she gave herself. It's just that she came in second for this contest at my company's event. She kinda like the camera when she's in the mood. I don't know where she learnt that peace sign while taking photos. Definitely not from me mind you.

So will this Miss I'm-The-Cutest grow up and become Miss Malaysia one day? Wah, not bad at all if this dream becomes a reality. I'm starting to fantasize. A few friends, friends who grew up with me, said she's a spitting image of me when I was young. Would that also mean that I'm cute too? :P Okok you're all allowed to vomit. Have a great weekend babes!

More and more little footprints...

Little Joseph has been taking a few wobbly steps for some time now. Sometimes with aid, sometimes not. But as of last weekend, he started to take a few more braver steps and I think it's safe to say that he officially started walking already.

He's also a very active boy. Just yesterday, I went to the yard just for a few seconds and then I heard him wail suddenly. I found him lying on the floor. Apparently according to his sister's brief explanation, the car he was playing with made him fall. I still don't know the real situation until now but his mouth was bleeding and I got frightened. After a quick phone call to the Mr., he was fine already. Up and playing! And with the exact thing that made him fall! Unstoppable and undeterrable I must say. Everytime he falls because of a chair or a ball. He cries and shortly after that he will be playing with the exact thing that caused his fall. *shake my head*

Joseph's 1st Birthday Bash

My son Joseph turns 1 on 2nd July. But his birthday falls on a Friday and I had plans to throw him a birthday party since it is his first birthday. So we had to do it a week earlier on the 26th June 2010.

It was a beautiful Saturday, good weather too. Good for us because we had the party by our condo's poolside.

My family from my side came up in the morning to help me in some last minute preparation. But there was nothing much to prepare anyway because I've settled all the party favours the night before. I guess I was too excited.

The party was supposed to start at 5.30pm onwards so we went down earlier around 4.30 to decorate the venue and the catering came around the same time too to set up.

Guests started coming consisting of relatives and close friends. I hired a clown to jazz the party up. I'm glad that the guests enjoyed the food and the clown. Not forgetting the children loved the cupcakes and enjoyed playing games hosted by the clown. There were even small gifts to win. The party was a success. Yes!

But we won't forget the star of the show, the birthday boy. He was a bit moody at the beginning because he was hungry. But after that was dealt with, he was very happy and again. So well behaved even. I think his only complain(if he could talk) would be that he is feeling very hot! Not only the weather was hot but yours truly dressed him up for the ocassion in a college boy suit. It was quite thick..hehe.

Although the birthday boy was too young to know what's going on. I think he did have a nice time. :)

First Day Of Kindy

I can't believe today is the day my dearest daughter is going to the kindy for the first time. I always listen to stories from my friends or colleagues about their children going to kindy for the first time and thought to myself, "I wonder when will my time come?" Well, I've got my wish today and boy it was really an experience.

I think most mothers will high five with me today because we might have the same experience. I was so anxious when we were approaching the school. Eliza was still innocent and not really knowing what to expect from kindy. She was ok as she enter the gate. Phew! I've passed one hurdle. She was ok when the teacher took her into the class. Phew! Another hurdle. Looks like it's all good. She was ok when the teacher sat her down on the chair and gave her some colour pencils to draw on a piece of paper. Phew! I'm so proud of you baby!

Then the dreaded thing happened. A boy came in the class and when his parents left, he let out a blood curdling cry. As you can guess, our princess started to cry too. Asking for her mommy to come and don't leave her. The teacher already warned us before hand that some children will be alright at first but will start to cry once they see another child cry. I felt like scolding the boy because it was all his fault. But I don't blame him actually. Her cry became louder and as time passes it became longer. My husband and I was getting worried and wonder whether it will ever stop? After so long finally it ended when the teacher decided to distract them with loud music and beckoned them to dance with her. Ok, it's time to leave now instead of loitering in the hall and peeping every few seconds. She might catch a glimpse of us and start to cry again. So we left for breakfast.

We decided to come back and check on Eliza again in the afternoon. There she was fast asleep..but on the floor?! I had to have a word with the daycare teacher and she told me that she was on the mattress at first but when the daycare teacher came near she quickly stick to her and ended up sleeping on the floor. The teacher tried to move her after she fell asleep but she opened her eyes and she quickly put her down in order not to wake her up. That was her story but I do hope it's true. After all we have to put our trusts in them right? Anyway, we left again and came back at 4.40pm to pick her up early. She was having her dinner halfway. But it's ok. I just don't want her to be the last to be picked up on her first day of kindy.

She told me after that that she cried in school because of the boy crying and that she wanted me. She also told me that she drank her milk and slept in school. She went on to say that we came to fetch her home and pick up dee dee. But last of all she told me that she doesn't want to go to school tomorrow. When I asked her why she said because she'll cry and want me and want to go home. Funny but of course that's not gonna happen. Tomorrow will be another challenge and I hope everything will be fine in no time.

The part where she was ok at first

She's actually crying

For a moment, I thought she spotted me.

It's a snail, Mommy

It's the first day of the year and it's a public holiday. And we are all cooped up at home. Why? Because the kids fell sick.

So Eliza was playing with her doodle pro and suddenly she exclaimed, "It's a snail, Mommy!" I wasn't really paying attention and just said, "Mmm" without even looking. Instead my husband took a look after she said the second time. He told me that it is a snail and then only I started taking it seriously. I was pretty impressed so of course it is a photo opportunity.

This is Eliza's version of a snail.

New Hairdo

I saw a picture of a friend's baby who just shaved his hair and thought it's pretty neat. So I decided to give it a try on Joseph since his hair looks unruly. Before and after pictures..which is better? Can you actually believe my dad said he looks better with hair. LOL.

Beaches

It's official. My daughter's afraid of the beach. I wonder what's so terrifying about the beach. I observed there are several things about the beach she's terrified.

1. She's terrified of the sound of waves splashing on the shore.
2. She's terrified of the waves chasing after her.
3. She's terrified of the sand.
4. She's terrified of the feeling of the sand under her feet.
5. She's terrified of the big red ants she saw on the beach. (Our beaches are getting dirtier)

I don't understand what's so terrifying. I wasn't afraid of the beach when I was young. I loved it till now. I hope it won't be a life long thing for her. Otherwise I'll be disappointed. This must be daddy's fault. She must've taken after her dad. :P

Man's Best Friend

Wanna make me smile, laugh or stop crying? Show me this dog and make it sing. I especially love to hear all the songs when you press the parts on my body.

Seriously, when all else fails, I rely on this dog to stop him from crying. Unless he is really sick and very cranky then no matter how I make the dog sing to him won't stop him from crying. But other than that, this dog is really a man's best friend. :) Thanks Aunty Noi for the gift!

I can turn over already!

Joseph can turn over already. This little tike couldn't wait for me to put his clothes on. He's just too excited to be able to turn over.

He is one active boy. Phew! I'm really worked up. I guess boys are more active than girls.

Eliza and her pillow

Aww...aren't they adorable? Eliza wanted to sleep on my bed with Joseph. Both ended up sleeping facing away from each other. Like a couple after a fight. I hope they both will grow up and continue to be close to each other. Otherwise there will be more headache for me if they fight often.

Eliza is very much in love with her pillow. As you can see, she needs it for sleeping. And when she's not sleeping she will hold on to it any moment she can get. She'll smell it or kiss it or even make funny noises.

So one day she told me, "Mommy, this is pillow pillow's eyes."
I said, "Huh? Oh is it? Then where's the ears?"
"There!" Pointing to the corners of the pillow.
"Then this is the nose and this is the mouth"
"Ohh.."

You know she is exactly like me. When I was small I had a favourite pillow also and I used to imagine the pillow's facial features at the spots where she imagined them to be too. Like mother like daughter.
