Kids Rule Our Weekends!

Once you have children and once they can talk well like my dearest daughter Elizabeth, they start to request or demand for stuff. Even the little one, Joseph is catching up and learning from his sister. As much as I do appreciate certain requests because sometimes I've also run out of ideas on what activity to do during the weekend but there are times when you have planned out an activity and she's not game for it. Or you're just too tired and about to lift your legs up and then there comes the dreaded request or demand. I don't know about you, I'm not saying they're like that every weekend but if you know what I'm saying then let's high five! LOL.

Here are a few scenarios of how my kids ruled my weekends:

1. I'm happily doing some household chores, little brother is asleep and big sister will suddenly come up to me and say she wants to do some art. She will bug me until I stop what I'm doing and bring out all her art materials.

2. The kids were watching the telly and suddenly papa wants to switch channels or switch off the telly because he said they've watched enough, Elizabeth will whine and Joseph will start a screaming fit. (this same case happens to mummy also). What excuse sometimes works for me is I'll say to Joseph that the TV is getting hot and once it's too hot it will explode and his face will become black because of the explotion. He'll relent sometimes..:P

3. You just came home from a tiring weekly grocery shopping outing with the family and have just put down the groceries when your girl starts asking whether she can go swimming or not. She won't take no or later for an answer. Don't they get tired?

4. I just finished reading to the kids their bedtime stories and was about to bring them to sleep (so happy to finaly get some me-time) when suddenly Elizabeth said she haven't played the piano. I should be happy that she is keen to play the piano but it clearly wasn't the right time.

5. Since morning, the kids have been chanting, " I want to go to the park, I want to go to the park..." and they stopped in the evening when we finally bring them to the park.

CNY Deco In Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall

Last Sunday, we went to Mid Valley Megamall for some CNY shopping. So I took the chance to take some picture of their CNY decorations for your viewing pleasure. The decorations were beautiful for me but still I felt it was not grand enough. Grand enough if you use it for house decoration but not so for a mall. That's just my opinion maybe others have a different say.

Then we hopped over to The Gardens Mall too since it's just beside Mid Valley Megamall. If it was not because we wanted to borrow their child stroller, we might not even drop by over there. The child stroller in Mid Valley Megamall were all taken up. Wasted because I actually prefer the stroller in Mid Valley Megamall. In case you parents have forgotten to bring your own stroller out for shopping(of all the things we have forgotten!), a tiny review her of the two mall's stroller. I prefer the ones from Mid Valley Megamall because:

1. it's new(they just got new strollers I think!)

2. it's more comfortable

3. more sturdy and safer

4. it has a big under-seat storage basket for you to put your baby bag and shopping bags

5. it has a hook to hang your shopping bags

6. it has a footrest

The ones from The Gardens Mall are:

1. not new, it has been there for quite a while. However, it doesn't look dirty

2. not so comfortable

3. not sturdy because it fell backwards before if there are shopping bags hanging and if the child is not sitting on the stroller

4. the under-seat storage basket is small and I had to squeeze the baby bag in it

5. it doesn't have a hook to hang your shopping bags. I had to hang them at their handle

6. it doesn't have a footrest so Joseph’s legs were left dangling.

Ok sorry for the diversion. Now back to the CNY deco in The Gardens Mall. The decorations are simple and nice but nothing to go ooh and aah about it. They have some props around as if to make us feel at home. It would be nice if those props are really in a home. It would be a nicely decorated home ready for CNY. Haha.

When your child vomits

In the previous post, I've mentioned that Elizabeth was down with vomiting and diarrhoea. She is fine now and already started attending preschool this week already. So far, no crying drama from her and she is going through preschool very well. After all, the teacher replied that she's a big girl already, she's six years old this year(actually she just turned five last November :P) when I asked the teacher how did she fare on her first day in preschool. I'll be crossing my fingers that there'll be no crying drama this year because I've endured her crying dramas for two years in preschool already!

I want to also share on what to do when your child vomits from my experience and advise from my paediatrician. When your child starts to vomit a few times and keeps rejecting any food he/she has eaten, of course you'll have to take your child to see a doctor. Take the medication he has given and besides that, the doctor advised that I don't have to give Elizabeth anything to eat at least for half a day. Your child will be ok as long as there's water. Give your child 2 tablespoons of warm water every 10 minutes to prevent from dehydration and replenish lost fluids from the body. Elizabeth had it very bad that she even vomited out that 2 tablespoons of warm water a few seconds or minutes after I fed her. But I still have to continue giving her. Then after half a day if your child has stopped vomiting, you can start giving him/her plain porridge or soy-based or lactose-free milk. Once your child starts having diarrhoea that is actually good news because it means that the vomiting bouts are over and the diarrhoea helps to get rid of the virus in the body.

With that said, I hope none of this happen to your child but just hope that what I share could be of use if it should happen. Sharing is caring they say.

Hello 2012

It might be a little too late but still Happy New Year to everyone! Last year, 2011 did not treat me very well so I'm wishing that this 2012 will treat me much better than the last.

The new year started with my daughter Elizabeth being sick. I'm suspecting she caught the virus from me because I too fell sick during Christmas. Then I passed on the virus to my nephew and I'm guessing he passed it on to poor Elizabeth. We were all vomiting and having diarrhoea. She being so young had it worst. She vomited for 2 days and had diarrhoea at the wee hours in the morning today. She's became so thin but is doing better now. Hmm..makes me wonder how come I didn't became thinner despite all the vomiting and diarrhoea. LOL. :P Anyway, I hope this bad start to the new year doesn't mean anything and I'm still praying that it will be a good year for us. I hope she will be fit and fine to go to school tomorrow. It will be her first day of school since she missed a few days already. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed .

Since I've been weak during the Christmas time, we didn't really celebrate in a big way this year. My mum is still not up for it. So it was quite a quiet Christmas and New Year this year. We went to church on Christmas day even though I was not well and still managed to go out for our Christmas dinner. As for New Year, the kids were already asleep during the eve. So hubby and I just watched some fireworks from our balcony and then he resumed back to do his work on the laptop while I watched a midnight movie on the telly. Maybe next year we should bring the kids somewhere for the countdown huh?

Happy Winter Solstice

Today, the Chinese celebrate Winter Solstice or Dong Zhi in mandarin. It is also my nephew Benjamin's birthday today whose birthday falls on this chinese festival every year. Winter Solstice is the day where families get together and celebrate a good meal while not forgetting to have Tang Yuan. Tang Yuan is made of glutinous rice flour balls which symbolise reunion, serve together with sweet soup.

Like most years since I got married, we always go back to my hubby's hometown in Seremban to celebrate by just having a good meal and Tang Yuan. This year since it falls on a weekday, so we already celebrated it earlier last Saturday. My mother in-law cooked up a storm and I think we had about 8 dishes of food that day! Sorry no picture because as usual I didn't want them to think I'm a freak. LOL. So after that scrumptious dinner, Elizabeth kept pestering us to do something. And what is that mysterious thing you might ask. The story goes like this. That Saturday morning, my hubby saw a stall selling sky lanterns at the market and he bought it. I thought sky lanterns were usually released on Chap Goh Mei which falls on the 15th day of the chinese lunar year. But hubby thought it would be nice to release it on Winter Solstice just for the fun of it. It would be fun for the children too. Which is why Elizabeth kept pestering us to start releasing the lantern right after dinner because she was excited. So this year the celebration had something out of the ordinary for us with the sky lanterns or some call them wish lanterns.

Hubby bought 3 lanterns but we only released 2 on that day. Each lantern had a special wish printed on it. It was a fun experience for the children. They were so excited to see it go up into the sky. Joseph was having fun running under the lantern while we light up the fire and waited for the lantern to swell. He made my heart jumped out of my chest many times because I was so worried his hair will catch fire! *shakes my head*

As mentioned earlier, Winter Solstice day is also my nephew Benjamin's birthday. As I'm typing here, my mum, sister and nephews are on their way up to KL. So tonight, we will be celebrating Benjamin's birthday. Happy Birthday Benjamin! You're a big boy already and here's wishing you a good life ahead and be a good boy ok? Happy Winter Solstice or Dong Zhi Jie Kuai Le!

My Christmas holidays begins tomorrow, so I won't be posting till my holidays are over. Hence, wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year filled with peace, joy and good tidings!

Roaring Fun In Sunway Lagoon

Yesterday I blogged about the Amusement Park and what we did there in Sunway Lagoon. So after we have covered all the rides that my children wanted to ride, we went for our lunch and then we moved on to the Wild Life Park. Previously, the Wild Life Park has a separate entrance and ticket counter. But now everyone can enter already. Our tickets are the 3 Park tickets which allow us to enter the Amusement Park, Wild Life Park and Water Park. We did not manage to finish everything in the Wild Life Park because we were afraid of the time constraint. No visit to Sunway Lagoon is complete if you never spend enough time in the Water Park, am I right?

The Pet Village is quite fun to visit. Although it's nothing great but at least the kids get some interactions with the animals there. They tried their hand in feeding the animals and petting them.

I can't share any photos of the Water Park unfortunately. My camera isn't water proof and I'm sure you know once you have changed into your swimming suit and stuffed everything in the locker, you don't want to bring anything along. It would be troublesome especially there's no one to keep an eye on your belongings and we'll be busy having fun with the kids. However, the children did enjoy their time splashing, sliding and building sandcastles at the Water Park. Even though there are times where they freaked out. LOL. Elizabeth is especially afraid of those buckets of water that pours out once they are filled to the brim. She was afraid it would pour on her. Joseph was braver but refused to enter his own baby float. I don't know why he has phobia going into his float. Well, that's the fun we did in Sunway Lagoon!

Not sure what kind of bird this is but it was moving freely near us in the Aviary section.

I haven't seen a Malayan Tapir before. I find it cute. This one is quite shy though trying to stay as far as possible from the viewing glass.

I like Spotted Deer too but this one is showing its bum bum to me.

This is an Asian Small Clawed Otter. This one swam up to us so close. We can even reach and touch it if we want to.

I like them! They are so playful and friendly.

Many were mesmerised by this Albino Python including Joseph who went to see it several times.

Amusing Fun in Sunway Lagoon

12th of December was a public holiday for my hubby who works in Selangor but it was not for me. So I took leave to enjoy with my family at Sunway Lagoon. Coincidentally, I purchased 3 tickets at a cheaper price(Joseph enters free) and the tickets expire end of December. So by hook or by crook have to go to Sunway Lagoon before the year ends. Since it was a public holiday for Selangor, we had already made plans to be at the doorstep of Sunway Lagoon before the ticket counter opens at 10 o'clock in the morning. The 'kiasuness' in us. LOL. We arrived just as plan but we were not surprised to see many people already there more 'kiasu' than us. First of all, we headed to the amusement park. We don't want to get wet first.

Spinning cup ride called The Apache Pots. I had to take care of the bags because we are not allowed to take bags along on rides. So Papa gets to go first with the kids. Can you see my excited girl looking for me?

Now it's Mummy's turn with the kids. Joseph with his peace sign again! Aiyoh somebody really gotta teach that kid.

We're on the very long suspension bridge. Can be quite scary if you're afraid of heights.

Long Awaited Birthday Present

During our recent trip back to Malacca, we finally made time to stop by a bicycle shop. We have been procrastinating or couldn't find the time to pay a visit to a bicycle shop. Why do we need to go to a bicycle shop? It's because of a promise. A promise to a little girl, that we would get her a bicycle as her birthday present. She's already grown out of her tricycle phase and we think it's time for her to own a bicycle. But terrible parents we are and after a month after her birthday, we finally got her her long awaited birthday present.

She being a sweet and patient girl always relent when we coined up excuses or reasons to put off the plan to go to a bicycle shop. And when we finally got it, she wanted to ride it out in the open straight away but we told her not until we bring it back to KL. Then she had to wait until the following weekend when we can finally bring her to the park. Finally, she got to ride on it out in the open. Haha. And so marks another milestone, my daughter's first time riding a bicycle.

Elizabeth finally got her ride on her new bike! See, we haven't even take out the plastic bubble wrap on the bicycle.

Sister cycles while brother happily stroll along. I got a feeling he knew he's still too small for the bike and it's not his turn yet.

You lead, I follow. Sister became a little lazy after peddling for a while and expected to be pushed. *slaps forehead*

Big Bad Wolf Aftermath Sale

I did not manage to go to the Big Bad Wolf first sale in October. So when I heard that they are going to do another round called the Big Bad Wolf Aftermath Sale from the 24 -28 November 2011, I really didn't want to miss it this time around. The venue was in South City Plaza (Ok, I know this place. Shouldn't have problem finding it ^_^). So to the Big Bad Wolf Aftermath Sale I did and came back with some books in hand.

"The ones that were left behind" was the tagline and pretty much sums up most of the books you can find there. Some were torn, stickers were missing, stickers were pasted on the books already, CDs were missing and there were dog ears. But what do you expect for RM5 or less per book! The crowd was still manageable maybe because it was a weekday and it's not the last day of sale. But my goodness, some people really grabbed a lot of books like it's going to be doomsday. LOL. I saw one mother and her two children filled up two big carton boxes with books! :O

Since Christmas was the next month at the time of the sale, I got the books for my children and nephews as a Christmas present. I already had plans to use the books as Christmas present from hubby and me since their bigger present will be from ‘Santa’. Christmas presents cannot only come from Santa right? The kids will surely ask how come they don’t have any present from me. So here are the books that I’ve bought. Aren't they a steal or what?

Christmas Deco and Garret In KLCC

TGIF! And what do I normally do during my long lunch hour on Fridays? I either stay in the office, go out for lunch (duh!) or go shopping in KLCC. I only go to KLCC whenever I have things to buy because it's the nearest big mall from my office. I've done all my Christmas shopping at KLCC this year. KLCC is my usual haunt la. So if you want to stalk me on Fridays, you can always look for me at KLCC. Just kidding..lol. I'll be looking left and right, so wary next time in KLCC. *pulling my thick skin*

Anyways, if you are curious how the Christmas deco for this year looks like, I am going to share a pic with you here.

For me, the deco is nothing great. Not much of difference or improvement compared to last year. Their Christmas decorations used to be good. Now it's just normal.

I went to the post office after finishing my Christmas shopping. As I was walking towards the post office in KLCC, I could smell a very familiar aroma in the air but I didn't bother looking for the source at that time because I wanted to quicky finish running my errand at the post office. After I'm done with my errand, I had to walk past that area again and again I could smell it. They smell like popcorns and I quickly look for the source. And true enough, they were popcorns! Then I noticed the long queue and the eager look on those people lining up. They're just popcorns, I was thinking but what's the big deal? I was debating whether to join the crowd or not and suddenly I find myself lining up too. Uh oh, I'm drawn to it like an ant to a candy. I guess the smell had a great crowd pulling effect. So I took some photos although there were signs saying no photographing allowed. I didn't use my flash anyway so nobody noticed.

Look at the queue. It's a U shape. LOL. I'm getting impatient at this point. But didn't give up because of the smell.

The popcorns separated in two bowls, ready to be consumed by my two lil' dahlings. They finished up all the Cheese Corn popcorn and left the Caramel Crisp for me! That means they are cheese fan also..:)

My verdict after putting one popcorn in my mouth? I've never tasted popcorn this good! It makes me keep digging my hand into the popcorn bag non-stop. I got the Chicago Mix which means a mixture of Caramel Crisp popcorn and Cheese Corn popcorn, medium size for RM 21! Good things don't come cheap. But I tell you, it's worth it. Never mind the queue even. The Caramel Crisp popcorn was good and the Cheese Corn popcorn felt like it melted in my mouth. I'm a fan of cheese so it's superbly good for me. Me likey! I had to refrain myself for finishing the whole bag because it's so good, I didn't want to finish it. I want to let my hubby and kids have a taste of it. Will definitely come back for more. Two thumbs up!

Christmas Deco At Malacca's Jusco

A few weeks ago, we went back to my hometown, Malacca. So we went to the Jusco there, the one near to the main Tesco and Malacca Sentral, the main bus station. I was surprised that the Christmas deco was already up even before December. What's more they even have an 'ice skating rink'. We didn't enter the rink because I'm actually quite scared to ice skate. Haha. My verdict for the deco? It's better than last year. I thought the huge snowman made of mineral bottles last year was quite ugly. LOL.

Row, row, row your boat!

If you remember from one of my previous post, I shared that Joseph's latest favourite nursery rhyme song is "Row, row, row your boat". Well, I've managed to record a video of him singing the song after literally begging him to sing for me. He knows that I want to record him on video so he was playing hard to get. Hmph! But after a few takes (talking like a movie director here LOL), I think this is the best video.

My Nightingales

I took videos of my two lil' dahlings recently while they were both singing. They were already singing actually but I asked them to re-enact the scene again just for me to record it on video. Hence, the cue "1,2,3" from me at the beginning of the video. LOL. I know, I'm a crazy mother. I thought they looked so sweet singing that I have to blog about it so that I can view it next time when I'm old or they can view it next time when they are older.

The first video features Elizabeth singing in solfege and Joseph trying to sing in solfege too.

The second video features them singing with lyrics this time and don't miss the scene where Joseph is trying to do his unique 'peace sign' at the end of the video! LOL.

Memorable videos for me to treasure especially when they're not fighting or snatching toys from each other or hitting each other! LOL. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Sweetness

My daughter is not the greatest artist in the world. She doesn't even draw everyday too. But when she does draw, I try to capture it on my camera. This is her idea of a happy family and happy home, I guess.

Sweet isn't it? Although her flowers are bigger than us. Interesting!

Then there was one weekend where I had a gathering with close friends we haven't met for quite a long time. The children found a playmate and it became a playdate for them.

Look at that! All three of them giving me a sweet smile for the camera.

Joseph is trying to do the peace sign but he failed. LOL. Oh well, he'll learn it one day just like how all children do. *slaps forehead*

Now both girls want to join him. Joseph is trying to make the peace sign again. LOL.

Later that day, still in Sunway Giza Mall, we went to Tong Pak Fu, a dessert outlet hailed from Hong Kong. It is serving hot, cold and western desserts. I had Tracka Durian Snow Ice and Chocolate Lava Cake. After I tasted the Tracka Durian Snow Ice, I can hear Belinda Carlisle's song "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" playing in my head. LOL. I simply love it! It's yummylicious and you know how I love durian right? Too much for my own good! Tong Pak Fu should give me free vouchers for promoting this dessert. :P

My Lil' Prince

I've noticed I haven't blog about Joseph for quite a while. So I thought I might just do a post on his updates or milestones since I have goldfish memory. :P

My lil' dahling is already 2 years and 4 months old. How time flies! He is still my cheeky little boy and never fail to entertain me with his antics. I'll list them down to be cherished forever so that when I'm old and grey I'll look back at this list and smile.

1. He has grown up and is more understanding now. If you remember one of my old post about him here. He will scream and cry if I bathe with the door closed. He used to bang the door hysterically. But he is fine now with me bathing with the door closed. He would still knock sometimes and try to open the door but no crying fit already. Sometimes I would leave the door open and he does pay me a visit once in a while when he's not too engrossed with what he's doing. He'll open the sliding door and look at me for a while then close and leave. Finally, I can have some ME time while bathing. Yay!

2. When I switched on the lights in the morning to prepare myself for work, he'll call, "Papa! Geh (get) up! Coo coo coooo" (his version of a cockerel's crowing).

3. He has learnt to appreciate books more. Is more attentive when I'm reading a book to him. His sister's interest in books does have an influence on him. My efforts to read to him every night before bedtime are finally paying off!

4. He is still a vegetarian. LOL. Now he even doesn't accept fish. The other day I tried feeding him a small piece of fish meat and he spit it out! The only way to get him to eat fish is to use my fingers to separate the fish meat into fish crumbs. If I want to get him to eat meat, then I'll have to mince the meat. *slaps forehead*

5. He is learning more words everyday but as usual we parents find it amusing when our toddler mispronounced words.

6. When he is running along the corridor, I think the neighbours will know because he likes to make a racket. He'll say "aaaaaaaaaahhh" the whole time while running. Tsk tsk tsk.

7. He still enjoys making me chase after him when I want to put on clothes or diaper for him. Same ol' trick everyday!

8. He has grown accustomed to cheese which he was not fond of previously. Monkey see monkey do here because his sister loves to eat cheese.

9. He knows how to wear and take off his favourite croc shoes without using his hands. He still face difficulty sometimes though.

10. He is beginning to show a fond attachment to his pillow. Sibling's behaviour can really have an impact among siblings huh. His sister is like best friends with her 'bantal busuk'. Now Joseph is becoming best friends with his 'bantal busuk' too. He calls it 'bei bei' since his sister calls hers 'bao bei' (baby). He even wants to take it along whenever we go out or whenever he goes to the babysitter's.

11. He can sing more nursery rhyme songs now. His latest favourite is "Re, re, re your boat, eny down the sheam, me yi me yi me yi me yi, ife is but a deam." LOL. Can figure that out?

12. Most of the time he'll be the first to arrive when I summon them to brush teeth or go to bed. He'll shout, "Jie jie! Come!" Does he knows he is the youngest or not? :D

13. He used to say "mai mai" (that's don't want in hokkien, because the babysitter speaks hokkien to him). But now he has upgraded to NO for everything. "You want to drink yakult, Joseph?" "NO!" Even when he meant yes. These past few days, we tried teaching him the correct usage of No and Yes. Now it's "Joseph, do you want to eat pudding?" "NO!..Yes!" Oh well, he'll improve. LOL. Today morning when he woke up, I greeted him, "Joseph?" He answered, "Yes?" That's a good sign...

Elizabeth is 5!

Another year and my baby is now 5 years old! It seems not too long ago when I blogged about her 4 year old birthday. Time moved on so fast. I wish I could freeze time! This year, her birthday party in school was done few days earlier because the real date falls on a Sunday. I did the usual cake ordering and prepared the goodie bags. Hubby has more time to help me with the goodie bags this year, thanks hubby! He also could make it for the birthday party in school this year. Thank God!

So what did the little highness wanted on her birthday cake this year? This year it's all about Disney Princess. She wanted Snow White and Cinderella to be on the cake so I ordered two cakes! One for the school party and one for the real day! The stuff for the goodie bags were purchased quite at the last minute so this time, I didn't make my own goodie bag like last year. The celebration never stop there. Two days after, we celebrated her birthday again in hubby's hometown. My mother in-law wanted to throw a small birthday party for her but her friend's grandchildren couldn't make it and Elizabeth's cousins were down with chicken pox. Nevertheless, it's a happy one for Elizabeth. My MIL sewed many dresses for her and she got her Cinderella cake.

Every birthday, I tend to discover that Elizabeth reaches a milestone. This year, I realised that she is more matured and she talks more like an adult. Like when she told her grandparents before we returned to KL,

"Ok bye bye, next time I will come to your house again".

Then when her father asked her to dance for us, she didn't want. When asked why, she just said,

"You join me lar". LOL.

We went for an event recently and I told her,

"You look disappointed, I'm sorry that they didn't have the hot air balloon ride as promised". She said a simple,

"I know".

Happy 5th Birthday my little princess. I love you more and more each day. Everyday, I'm learning beautiful and new things about you. I pray to God to bless you with all the joy, happiness and glory in the world. May you sail through all the obstacles and challenges that come in your way to success. I am proud to have you as my daughter and nothing brings us more happiness than the smile on your face. I want to see that smile on your lips forever.

Crazy For Noodles In Malacca

There's a place in Malacca we'll try to go nearly everytime whenever we go back to my hometown. Hubby and I just love to eat at this place. It's a restaurant selling noodles. Maybe it's the taste of the noodles drench in oil. The oil is from deep frying the pork lard. Maybe it's the crunchy taste of the fried pork lard. Maybe it's the home-made chilli paste. But whatever it is, it keeps us coming back for more.

You can choose from yellow noodles to kuay teow or even mee hoon depending on your preference. But for me, the combination of yellow noodles and kuay teow is the choice for me. We always have our noodles dry and it comes with a bowl of soup filled with 'yong tau foo' meaning tofu stuffed with fish paste. You can have your bowl of noodles plain, or you can have it with their chilli paste. You can also have it with sweet sauce. You can even have it with dark soya sauce just like how my nephew likes it!

I beg your pardon in advance because the pictures I'm going to share doesn't do justice to the how it tastes. Yours truly forgot to bring back her faithful camera and had to use my camera phone as a substitute.

The name of this restaurant as stated on their sign board is 'Restoran Yong Tau Fu Cheng Fong'. You can hunt for this restaurant at Jalan Temenggong, Bukit Cina. It's at the end of Jalan Temenggong, the last shop house on your left, before approaching a roundabout. The restaurant is also opposite a Sikh temple called Gurdwara Sahib Melaka. It's not difficult to find but be sure to be there early because everything will be sold out by noon especially on weekends. Hope you'll like it as much as we do!

I Love Jesus!

Since we didn't manage to catch the Big Bad Wolf Sales, we caught the Logos Hope Book Fair instead last Saturday. If it wasn't because of my mum and two nephews, we wouldn't have thought of going also. We met my mum and two nephews who were there for a day trip from Malacca.

Surprisingly, the journey didn't take that long to reach Port Klang Cruise Centre. It was a gloomy day and the skies were threatening to rain but fortunately it did not. Someone must have prayed hard. LOL. Upon reaching the car park, I started to worry by judging at the amount of buses and cars. Then as I was fast approaching the ticket counter, I saw the long queue waiting to go up the ship (started to cold sweat already!). After I enter the ship and saw the sea of crowd (like exaggerating only), I started to panick already! Never mind, I told myself to keep calm since I've come all the way. Might as well just get on with it and finish the journey.

My mood was a little dampen by the crowd, so I didn't get to browse through every rack thoroughly. I managed to get four books though. The children and I are happy with the books just that I'm not so happy with the price. I only managed to get one RM8 book. >.< Oh well, can't stinge so much on books because books are precious and knowledge is power. Hehe.

Talking about books, that comes to the title of this post. I was reading the book "The Beginner's Bible:Jesus and the Children with Elizabeth the other day. Along the way she asked me some questions and I explained to her that Jesus loves all children, including her. In the book, the children also loves Jesus and loves to follow Him. So I explained to her that the children loves to be around Jesus because He is very kind, loving and helpful. She felt so good after reading the book that she exclaimed, "I love Jesus! He's so beautiful!"

I felt so good after hearing that and I have never been happier. So proud of her. ^_^

Elizabeth's Annual Concert

It's nearing the year end already and in most schools there will be an annual or year-end concert. This is the second annual concert for Elizabeth. Even though it's the second year for her, she's still quite shy on stage. Nevertheless, she was still very excited about it and kept reminding us about the concert and to be punctual for the event.

Prior to the concert, I asked her several times what was her dance this year. Sometimes she told me that it's a surprise and sometimes she told me that she doesn't know. I asked her to sing the song of her dance for me and she told me she can't remember. I asked her to show me her dance and she did it very roughly. She said we squat down and then we just jump and jump and then turn around. It was vague so I couldn't quite make out what dance is that all about. LOL.

Then the real day of her concert approached and I sent her to her school before 4p.m. for her to change into her costume. So I've seen her costume, but I still haven't the slightest what dance was she going to perform. Then I had to leave her in school because the teachers need to prepare them and the children will travel to the concert venue by bus.

Hubby and I were quite anxious when we arrived at the concert venue before 7p.m. We still don't know what to expect even after we have read the concert programme. Her class will be performing a dance called "Jailhouse Rock". When it was her class turn to perform and the music started, I recognised the song straight away. Of course it's the song sung by the great Elvis Presley but I still don't know what kind of dance is that. LOL. Can you tell me?

Last Day in Penang - Day 6

You must be thinking, "It's still not over?" Well, I just thought of sharing the final hours before leaving Penang. :P After breakfast we went to Him Heang Sdn Bhd (GPS N 5 25.455 E 100 19.242) because I vowed to myself that I would never leave Penang without buying Tau Sar Peah (Tambun biscuits), those famous biscuits made of wheat flour, green bean, fried shallot, vegetable oil and salt. It's my all-time favourite so you know what to get for me next time you visit Penang ok? *wink wink*.

We left Penang by Ferry this time just to let the kids have the experience. It was the right decision because they did had fun and enjoyed being on the ferry. So that's about it all about my road trip. Hope you all enjoyed reading it..:)

Penang Day 5

It was a gloomy start in Penang on day 5. I was hoping the weather would be better but it still did not deter us from going out. After all staying in the apartment the whole time would be boring right?

The first place of the day was Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi or Khoo Kongsi temple for short (GPS N 5 24.850 E 100 20.264). It's a magnificent clanhouse hidden amidst the crowded gridiron of terrace houses and shophouses. It was not easy to find the temple and we nearly missed the entrance because it looked like a normal alley if you didn't notice the signboard. The entrance fee is RM5. We enjoyed our stop there. The architecture is really breathtaking and there's so much detail to the design. So intricate.

Next, we visited the Pinang Peranakan Mansion. (GPS N 5 25.070 E 100 20.471) I was interested to visit this place just because the mansion was used as one of the main drama set for this drama I watched before called 'Little Nyonya'. You cannot miss this mansion because it was painted bright green. The entrance fee for adult is RM10 and kids enter for free. Once entering the mansion, you can see antique furnitures, unique architectures and decoration all restored in good form. If you are into history, antiques, architectures or culture, I'm sure you'll find a visit to this mansion worthwhile.

After lunch at Sin Hwa Kopitiam ( GPS N 5 25.848 E 100 18.768) for the tasty and famous Char Kuay Teow, we went to Toy Musuem (GPS N 5 27.903 E 100 17.740). This Toy Museum is at Jalan Tanjung Bungah and the entrance fee is RM10 for adults and RM6 for children. If you are still a child at heart, you will be happy to see the many types of toys featured in this musuem. One thing, I didn't enjoy about the museum was it seems badly maintained and there's a musty smell in the musuem. Anyway, we went there for the sake of the children otherwise I don't think I will be interested in the musuem.

Since the Toy Musuem is on the way to Batu Ferringhi, we went to Batu Ferringhi beach. The children had fun the most, dipping in the sea. Driving along the coastal road in Batu Ferringhi also gives a scenic view of the sea and beach. It was just relaxing.

We went back to the apartment to get ourselves cleaned up and later went to Ocean Green Restaurant near to Gurney Drive to have seafood for dinner. The restaurant is just by the sea so you can hear actually hear the sound of waves splashing. But since the restaurant was crowded with people, the sound of waves were drown by the sound of people talking. Nice ambience and nice food. Worth a try.

Penang Day 4

Yesterday I forgot to mention about this big hawker style food court in Taiping. It's quite near to the Lake Garden and a Flemington hotel there. It's the only food court there so you can't miss it. I forgot the name and forgot to take pictures but the 'ikan bakar' and fried 'lala' was nice.

Still in Taiping on Day 4, we went to Taiping Equine Park (GPS N 4 51.399 E 100 45.181) in the morning after our breakfast. You can ride a horse there for RM 10 and they'll bring you around for 2 laps in the arena. All the children went on a ride except Joseph and they enjoyed it! Elizabeth kept talking about how the horse moved and made her body go up and down. LOL.

After the ride, then it's off to Penang. We took about 1 hour plus to reach Penang. Since it's not lunch time yet, we went to Kek Lok Si Temple our first stop (GPS N 5 23.993 E 100 16.406). Although this is not my first visit there, I discovered there are many changes at the temple since my last visit. Kek Lok Si Temple is a like a prominent landmark in Penang and your visit is not complete if you don't leave your footprint there. Anyway, I didn't take a lot of pictures because it was raining when we arrived there and my hands were occupied with an umbrella and a toddler. We did the direct opposite thing most tourist do because my hubby drove all the way up to the towering statue of Kuan Yin. Then we went downhill using the inclined lift to other parts of the temple, passed the Liberation Pond filled with turtles and finally descending the stairway along those well known shops selling souvenirs who have been there for years!

We went out of the temple looking for food nearby as it was already lunch time and our stomachs were growling. We settled for a hawker centre nearby and tried their asam laksa and fried kuay teow. Not really worth mentioning because it's not the best in town.

The lunch did not do justice and was not enough to fill our tummies so we went for cendol at the Penang Road Famous Teochew Cendol (GPS N 5 25.031 E 100 19.835). It's on Penang Road just beside a coffee shop called Joo Hooi. I was so looking forward to it that I forgot to take a picture of the cendol itself. My apologies. I gobbled it up as soon as the bowl touched my hand! LOL. It was truly satisfying and thirst quenching. Slurp!

We checked in Golden View Serviced Apartments (GPS N 5 26.702 E 100 18.341) after the cendol. This serviced apartments in quite near to Gurney and we selected the Deluxe three-bedroom apartments with living room, kitchenette, dining area and attached bathrooms all for RM 365 nett per night. I totally forgotten to take pictures of the modern apartment. However if you are interested you can view them over at www.goldenview.com.my Personally, I feel it's quite worth it. It's also spacious enough and has modern looking furnishings like a hotel. You can choose the view overlooking the sea too.

The next visit was at Bukit Bendera or Penang Hill. We deliberately chose to visit the hill in the late evening so that we will have the panaromic view of Penang at night. We took the new Penang Hill furnicular train service up the hill. It is even more new and modern than the train I took to Victoria's Peak in Hong Kong. LOL. Not bad lar. Malaysia boleh! The journey up didn't take long although there were a few stops to allow the train coming down to pass through. The train is also air-conditioned. Ticket prices are RM 8 for adults, RM 4 for children (7-12 years old) and RM 4 for senior citizens. They have family packages too.

Now it's really dark. It would be perfect if there's a moon in sight. But still nice with the cool climate.

For dinner, we went to this hawker centre called Old Green House in Burma Road (GPS N 5 25.430 E 100 19.258). We wanted to have the famous food there but most stalls were not open that day. So we had their 'bak kut teh' and fried rice. Nice on the tummy though. The hubby said we shall be back tomorrow to Old Green House! LOL. Again apologize for taking the pics. Just trust my word of mouth ok? :P I tend to forget to take pictures of food before I eat them. It could be I'm a glutton, I forgot, I got lazy or I'm afraid of being labelled a FREAK by my in-laws. :P

Taiping Day 3

I have done quite a number of road trips before but this is the first time I went to 3 different states all in one road trip! This is a record and I wonder what made us so gung-ho? Oh I guess it must be the hubby being a fillial son as he has never brought his parents on a holiday before. He was indeed very satisfied after the trip as if he has already fulfil his duty as a son. :P

Our next destination was Taiping. So after we checked out and had breakfast, we started our journey to Ipoh first for our lunch. We used the Simpang Pulai way to go down Cameron Highlands and made a few pit stop to do some last minute shopping and I got these...

Strawberry tea in tea bags form. As you can see it's RM 7.90.

'Teh Tarik Strawberi'. It's the 3 in 1 sachet form. This I gotta try because it was recommended by a friend and it was really good! RM 9.50 a box.

We arrived in Ipoh at lunch time and ate at this famous restaurant called Foh San (GPS N 4 35.818 E 101 05.153). My mother in-law recommended this place because she has been there before and assured that the dim sum was nice. I'm a dim sum fan, so anything goes but indeed it was truly nice! Again, I didn't get to take every single thing that we ate. Heck my father in-law even had to pause for a while for me to take a picture before he could grab a 'char siew pau'. So I guess I better stop because I think he already thinks I'm a freak. :P

I love siew mai the most and what's more this is the best I've ever tasted! I was pleasantly surprised, it was like heaven in my mouth and I wanted to get more but shy lar with my in-laws around.

As usual the children are always very interested in any water feature anywhere even at this restaurant.

As if the lunch was not satisfying enough, we went to 'tapau' the famous salted chicken from Aun Kheng Lim (GPS N 4 35.685 E 101 05.009) for us to savour later after we reach our place of stay in Taiping.

I couldn't find an apartment in Taiping but stumbled upon Tan Homestay from the internet! So homestay it is and we were pleasantly surprised too. It's a fully furnished single storey bungalow with ample space and compound. The car porch can even fit two cars and there are 4 bedrooms. It's also 10 minutes away from Lake Garden. For only RM280 per night, we get more than what we bargain for.

After having our salted chicken and rested for a bit, it was time for us to go to Taiping's Lake Garden (GPS N 4 51.079 E 100 44.817). Elizabeth and I sat the swan boat but decided not to let Joseph on the swan boat yet because we felt that he's still too young. He's active and stubborn, might not listen to us while we are busy peddling the swan boat. Luckily he did not mind being left out. Elizabeth had so much fun.

We went to Taiping Zoo (GPS N 4 51.282 E 100 45.067) after that for the Night Safari. The Night Safari opens daily at 8PM. We wanted to have the night experience in a zoo. Once in the zoo, everyone hopped on the Mini Train for a tour around the zoo with a guide informing us over the speaker on every animal we encounter. I'm impressed with the size of the zoo and the animals they have. However, if I had the chance to go again I wouldn't choose the Night Safari again because I felt that the lightings were not many or bright enough and I can't really get to see the animals properly. I think I rather just stick to daytime zoo. Hehe. Nevertheless it was a bit exciting for the kids because of the anticipation in encountering animal after animal in the dark. LOL. Here are some pictures I took. You might be disappointed because most of my pictures didn't turn out well because of the darkness and distance. So I only have a few to share. Up next is Penang..till then!

Cameron Highlands Day 2

Continuing from yesterday's post, day 2 in Cameron Highlands started with a fine weather.

We slept in the master bedroom with two queen sized beds. Sorry about the state of the room. :P

The first stop in our itinerary list was BOH Sungei Palas Tea Centre and Factory. I was already excited because I've heard lots of good recommendation about this place and true enough it was worth the visit. Although the drive in was deep, challenging and scary at times, the view was so scenic you just don't mind proceeding with your destination. It's a very huge tea plantation and you can even enter their factory to learn about the processing of tea. We had our breakfast there at the BOH Tea Café and yes I tried the scone there. I wouldn't say it's to die for.

Our next stop was Butterfly Garden in KEA Farm Brinchang. It was ok. More butterflies than some other butterfly farm I've been. They have other insects and animals besides having butterflies. I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

There are many butterflies flying around and some are even on the floor. Some could be dead.

Then we went to Smokehouse. I heard that people used to enter even their garden to snap pictures. But now the garden is only open for the guests who live in Smokehouse or customers at their cafe. So we could only take pictures outside the Smokehouse. Even that we got dirty looks from the security guards. It's a lovely looking old english style cottage and the garden looks beautiful even from outside. Must be even more beautiful inside.

It started to rain heavier but we still proceeded to Raju's Hill Strawberry Farm in Brinchang. It's solely a strawberry farm because I don't see any other vegetables there. I asked a worker there and he told me they used to allow strawberry picking but because the strawberry plant wilt easily when being handled too much, it takes even longer time for it to grow properly back again for harvesting. So they've stopped that concept. It was cold there because of the rain and I was so tempted to try their strawberry ice-cream but I changed my mind. So I bought strawberry jam instead.

The strawberries in Raju's Hill Strawberry Farm. They only open a small area for visitors. The rest are all enclosed because they don't allow visitors to touch their plants.

Before we retire for the night, we had charcoal steamboat for dinner in Restoran Kwan Kee, Brinchang. It was quite a satisfying dinner in a cool weather. I wanted to take pictures during dinner but didn't want my in-laws to think I'm a freak. So I'll just share it through words only and it's up to you to try this place..:) Up next is Taiping..stay tuned!

Cameron Highlands Day 1

We went on a road trip last week to Cameron Highlands, Taiping and Penang. That explains my absence and yes you might say..finally! At long last, my family vacation has come true. It was a real family road trip with my parents in-laws, brother in-law, sister in-law, four pre-schoolers and two cars on the road. I'm glad we all survived the trip. LOL.

Our first stop was Cameron Highlands where we stayed for 2 nights at Parkland Apartments. We used the old, winding road up to Cameron Highlands which is the Tapah way because hubby wanted some waterfall experience. :P So we stopped by Lata Iskandar waterfall. You can't miss it because it's by the road side. There are even steps that you can climb beside the waterfall to view the waterfall on a higher ground. The children got to play in the water for a bit until I got paranoid and told them to stop because the rocks were rather slippery. By the way, it took about two and a half hours from KL to Lata Iskandar waterfall.

Elizabeth was thrilled to play in the water until her jeans got wet.

Joseph was also thrilled to play in the cold water and didn't mind his jeans getting wet.

We climbed up some steps to get an even closer view of the waterfall.

The kids enjoyed looking at the gushing water and feeling the breeze of wind at the waterfall.

We continued the journey up through the winding road. It can be quite challenging sometimes when we encountered heavy vehicles or when the road get slightly narrow. Thank goodness I was not the driver, otherwise I'll get so stressed up. Elizabeth experienced some motion sickness. Luckily she did not throw up. We stopped by Lakehouse Hotel to take some pictures because of the old english cottage styled architecture. Then it began to rain and pour so we decided to check in Parkland Apartments and rest for a bit.

When the rain stopped somewhat, we couldn't wait to continue exploring. So even when it's drizzling we went to Cameron Valley Cameron Bharat Plantations. It's not difficult to find also because it's along the main road between Ringlet and Tanah Rata. If lost, you can always rely on GPS or road sign board. We walked down to the tea plantations and also later to sip tea at the Cameron Valley Tea House while absorbing the superb view of the tea plantation. It made me even more excited and can't wait to visit another tea plantation the next day.

Those people living in those houses are lucky. Even if they have stress, they just look out of their window and their stress will be forgotten. :P

The 3 older children knows how to enjoy and treasure the view except for 1 who is more interested in playing with a water feature in the tea house! (hint:Joseph)

Of course a trip to Cameron Highlands wouldn't be complete if we didn't visit a Strawberry Farm. So we went to Big Red Strawberry Farm in Brinchang. In all the excitement and with the cool weather, I bought strawberry ice-cream 'potong' for everyone but forgot to snap a picture of it. It costed only RM1 and it was some sort of a thrill to have something cold in a cool weather. LOL. I also tried the strawberry milkshake which was a tad too sweet for me. It wasn't the strawberry season so we're not lucky enough to spot red strawberries. There were many unripe ones. Besides farming strawberries, they also grow vegetables and cactus there.

We wanted to go to the big 'pasar malam' in Brinchang at night but it was raining cats and dogs so we had to cancel our plans. :( So we had dinner in OK Tuck Restaurant. The food was quite good.

So there goes my day 1 in Cameron Highlands. I will blog about day 2 soon. You know after spending some time in Cameron Highlands, Elizabeth asked me..

Elizabeth: Mummy, I want to go to Cameron Highlands(whining). How come we haven't reach there?

Me: This is Cameron Highlands lar.

Elizabeth: This is not Cameron Highlands lar. Cameron Highlands is not like that.

Me: This is Cameron Highlands lar! You want me to show you proof? (showing to her a signboard with the word Cameron Highlands on it)

Elizabeth: But Cameron Highlands is not like that lar. I want to play on the rides.

Then it suddenly dawned on me that she thought Cameron Highlands is the same as Genting Highlands.

Me: Omg. That is Genting Highlands. Cameron Highlands is not the same. This is what you get in Cameron Highlands. We are now in Cameron Highlands.

Frolicking At The Beach

I know this is a long post overdue but I only have the time to share about it now. The pictures I'm sharing were taken during the long Raya break. We went back to my hometown in Malacca and went to the Tanjung Kling beach just to let the kids have fun at the beach. It's not the cleanest beach around but it's the closest we can find. At least the beach is not a reclaim land or it's not blocked by huge rocks. Even some parts of the klebang beach is now blocked by huge rocks that you can't dip your feet in the sea.

Since it's the raya holidays, the beach was not crowded and there were only chinese people! The last time I went, there were quite many people of all races. Haha. The weather was gloomy so it was quite a nice weather to be at the beach especially when you're afraid of getting sunburn. So the kids had fun playing with the sand, building sand castles, wading in the sea water and just letting the waves splash at their legs. A relaxing holiday indeed.

Elizabeth is not afraid of the sand anymore but still do not want to take off her shoes.

One day, during the Raya break, these two decided to become so chummy with each other. I don't know whether it's the charm of being in a small town called Seremban or it's the cool morning weather. I quickly picked up my camera and take some shots before they start growling at each other. lol.

Very normal scene between siblings right? One minute they are so nice and lovey dovey towards each other. They even back each other up. One minute they are at each other's throat. Pulling hair, beating each other, screaming, crying or complaining. Oh, what an ugly scene.

That's why I prefer to take the lovey dovey shots to let them have fond memories of each other. I'm sure you guys will love it too..:)

Dog Lover

Last Saturday, we went to visit a friend's newborn baby boy. They have a pet dog. So guess who was the most excited to see the dog? My lil' dahling, Joseph. He was touching it. Chasing after it. Trying to play with the dog. He followed the dog everywhere. We didn't know that he is such a dog lover. Or was it a dog bully? LOL. The poor dog seemed traumatised. But it was nice to see him getting up close and personal with the dog.

I've been busy today and haven't read anyone's blog yet. So sorry. It's time to go home already but since the traffic jam is terrible, I decided to a short post for a while before I leave.

About A Boy

Things you might want to know about my boy..

1. He is a very manja boy and is even more so when he's unwell.

2. He doesn't allow me to close the bathroom door while I'm bathing otherwise he will bang the door hysterically. So I've no choice but to bathe with the door open. ~~for the whole world to see.~~

3. He likes to stand at the balcony and watch the vehicles go by. Every now and then shouting, "Car! Bus! Lor-ee!(Lorry)" At first everything is a car to him. Then lorry is also a bus to him. Thank goodness he got them right sort of now.

4. He likes to irritate his sister especially when they just woke up in the morning and still lazing on the bed. He'll crawl up to his sister and lie on top of her body.

5. He likes to play chasing. He'll try to run away from us everytime we try to wear his diapers, change his clothes, feed him and even to get him out of the car. Phew! What a task. Got me panting I tell you.

6. He likes to play with toy vehicles or anything on wheels and run them on any surface even using us as his 'highway'. He'll run them along our legs to our body and right up to our head!

7. He's a vegetarian. Not exactly 100% vegetarian but he prefers vegetables over meat. Not many children like to eat vegetables but my lil' dahling here can even eat celery! He hardly eat meat unless it's finely minced or it's fried chicken. He'll eat most of the fried chicken's skin. Thank goodness he accepts fish.

8. He likes fruits especially grapes and likes to drink Yakult or Vitagen.

9. He hates to get his hair cut and scared the hell out of the hairdresser with his high-pitched scream.

10. He can be quite stubborn and wants his way.

11. He's an active boy who likes to run run run especially when we're out. That's why we still need to confine him in his stroller.

12. This cheeky little boy made my jaw dropped the other day. I went to pick my children up as usual at the babysitter's and she was telling me updates about Joseph. She was telling me that he was very cranky that day maybe because he was unwell. She was going on about what he did and suddenly he ran past us up and down the hall with his fingers stuffed into his ears and said "Aaaaa...aaaaa...aaaaa"(with a cheeky smile on his face). We were both stunned but it made us laugh in disbelief also. I don't know where he learnt that? Turning a deaf ear. As far as I know, I've not seen anybody done that in front of him before. What else is this cheeky boy going to do?

Ok quite a long list too. I'm now imagining what his reaction would be when he's older and reads this. :D Hope you enjoyed it. :)

Tickling The Ivories

It has been 8 months since Elizabeth learnt playing the piano. She is taking Junior Music Course in Yamaha Music School. She wasn't doing very well during the first 5 months. She was left behind in her class because of lack of practise because we didn't have a piano to practise on. It was only during the 6th month we finally moved my piano up to KL that she started practising more.

She's no genius and still sometimes have difficulty reading music notes but I'm still very proud with her accomplishments. It's not an easy feat to get where she is now. Tempers flared, tears were shed but finally we got through. Hopefully she won't give up and learn to love music more.

Lazy Sunday?

It was suppose to be a lazy Sunday but we ended up

...going to the Bukit Jalil Park in the morning to have a picnic and walk.

All set and excited to go to the park and ride her tricycle.

We found a shady spot and start digging our breakfast. Bread with butter and cheese for Elizabeth, please.

We had bread with ham, cheese, butter and fried eggs.

Joseph only ate a little of cheese and yakult because he was interested in something else!

Life's Little Surprises

Kids can surprise you when you least expected it. I went to pick my children up from the babysitter yesterday after work. I had this conversation with my babysitter..

Babysitter: You're coming back late from work tomorrow right?

Me: Yeah. Eh, how did you know?

Babysitter: Elizabeth told me.

Me: Eh, but I didn't tell her.

Babysitter: She told me that you will come back late from work tomorrow. Her father will pick her up instead. She said you got buka puasa.

Me: LOL. Yeah that's true but I was planning to tell you now. I never told her. She must've eavesdrop on my conversation with my husband.

Way to go my little messenger. All this while I thought she was just busy reading, playing toys or in her own world. I never knew she was eavesdropping. She surprised me. What's even more surprising was she said buka puasa. LOL. Lets all hope she won't be delivering my darkest secret to my babysitter one day!

I had another little surprise yesterday too that I had to get it on video..(turn on the volume louder, Joseph's voice sounds like a mouse when he knows he's being recorded, must be shy)

I've never taught him the numbers 1 to 10 actually. Only if you count numbers 2, 8 and 9 because those are the levels we frequent at the place we stay. I'm really not sure where he picked up from because my babysitter said she never really taught him too. Or maybe he paid attention when I read the book to him. And I thought he didn't. LOL. So it's again another surprise for me. It looks like my little dahling here is interested in numbers. :)

Can't wait for the next surprise they're going to give me..;)

My Girl

Things you might want to know about my girl...

1. She loves to read. I'm proud of this and hope she continues her love for reading until she grows old. :D

2. She doesn't like to go to school. Just today morning, she chose to stay at home versus going to school because her dad is not working today. Public holiday for those working in Selangor. What a bummer for me..sigh.

3. She is a small eater. Very picky with her food. To the point that sometimes I feel so stressful and feel like forcing all the food down her throat. :p

4. She likes to ask many questions in a day. Mind boggling ones sometimes too. Everyday is why why why. I might consider to set a rule to 10 questions per day. Kidding.

5. Her love of her life (besides me) is her little bolster. Everyday she will smell and kiss it even before she goes to school. She will come home looking for it. Her bolster have to be placed on the sofa each day before she leaves for school. There was once she can't remember whether she put it on the sofa or not and made me turn back and open the door for her again just for her to check. Her bolster case has to be the same one also. No replacement whatsoever. That's why her bolster case is fading already. LOL.

6. She loves to drink Yakult or Vitagen. Which kid doesn't?

7. She loves to eat cheese. The cheddar cheese slices kind. This one is like staple food for her.

8. She hates doing her Chinese subject homework. I think the many strokes of the Chinese character demotivates her.

9. She likes the colour pink. I wonder whether most girls do? Or maybe she just takes after me..:P

10. She loves her brother and is quite protective over her brother but still fights with him just like most siblings do.

11. She doesn't allow us to cut her hair short only the fringe. I'm still plotting to cut her long locks one fine day. It's getting too long already. That one fine day will come. I'm still plotting.

12. She can be very stubborn and only wants her way. Are all children like that?

13. Still cries when I drop her off at school. Not everyday but at least once a week. The trick that Santa will cut her name out of his list for Christmas presents because she always cry doesn't seem to work. I need help.

14. She feels safe sleeping beside me. Last night she slept in her own room with her dad because she was coughing a lot. Halfway through the middle of the night, she came to lie beside me and fell fast asleep. Awww..
